Okay. Better. I guess.
I got out of the house yesterday. I took my daughter shopping to use up some of the Micheal's craft store gift cards that she got for Christmas. We also went to the salvage grocery store while were out and exchanged a game at Target for my youngest son. It was nice to get out of the house. We've just been hibernating for the most part, since Christmas. We're going to spend a quiet New Year's Eve at home and then we have a Christmas party tomorrow afternoon. My daughter and I have been giving some thought to New Year's resolutions. I want to walk more. My daughter says that she's going to try and do 10,000 steps on her pedometer every single day of 2012. If she is planning to use up all the yarn she got for Christmas, she may have to learn to crochet and walk at the same time. :-) I do feel a little better. I am not really looking forward to next week as there are several doctors appointments, homeschool activities start back up and we will be busy again. I dread being busy, but I actually think it's good for me, just like I think starting back to school will be good for the kids. :-)

Feeling kind of down.
I'm feeling kind of down today. I don't want to do anything. I have done the minimum today. I cleaned up the house a bit and cooked, but I've just been watching some episodes of House MD and feeling kind of blah. I think I need to get out of the house, quit eating junk food and get some exercise so I'll try those tomorrow.

Still lazy.
To clarify about our lazy week, I have been working but the first 2 days of the week, there wasn't a lot of work. I figure the doctors were taking days off too if they could and not scheduling any procedures if they couldn't help it. Today was a bit more normal and I got a few more lines, but still not up to the usual amount. I did have to leave the house yesterday because we ran out of 2 of the necessities of life - cat food and toilet paper. We went to Game Stop because my youngest son wanted to get a new Skylander's figure to go with the Skylander's game he got for Christmas, but they were sold out. We were looking at the markings on the door that show heights (I guess so they can tell the police how tall the robber was?) and my youngest remarked that he's short and that even his friend who is 2 years younger is taller. I told him that there are advantages to being short at his age, because sometimes tall kids are expected to act older than they are. He has another friend a few months older who is 6 feet tall and people think he's 17 or 18 when he just turned 14. My son could see how he wouldn't like that right now, but he'd still like to be taller when he's older. He's only about 5 feet tall now, but his growth spurt hasn't hit yet. He'll get there.

Holiday fun.
Just for fun, Google "Let It Snow", "Christmas Lights", "Hanukkah" or "Santa Claus". Other fun ones are "Do a Barrel Roll" and "Askew". Also, just for fun, visit the Snowflake Bentley site and look at close up pictures of real snowflakes like the one above. These are very cool. Also, if you didn't get enough video games for Christmas, go to Amazon and download this one for free and while you're there, you can take a look at the 25 days of free Mp3s that they've done for Christmas this year. I got some that I liked and some I deleted after downloading.
We're just lazing it up this week, although yesterday my daughter and I suddenly got an overwhelming urge to, as she says, "do something useful" so briefly, we worked on the house and then went back to our busy schedule of board games, video games, eating junk food and watching movies. When the book I ordered for myself for Christmas comes I'm just going to sit down and read it ... with no guilt for the messy house.

Wow.
Christmas was nice, but I am tired now. We had a really good time. The funnest/funniest part of the weekend was playing a game called Curses. It was hilarious both times we played it. I mean, laugh till you cry hilarious. Everyone seemed mostly pleased with their Christmas presents so my crazy shopping seems worthwhile. I am so glad that shopping is over (all except the gift card spending) and I'm kind of glad to be back into my routine. I will be absolutely thrilled to get the Christmas tree down because my husband and kids decided it should go in a different place this year, even if that meant moving the couch into the middle of the floor and walking around it for 30 days. It has driven me crazy this whole Christmas season.
The kids have not started their routine back yet. We let them sleep in today and they will have all day screen time if they want it (the youngest will). We will try and play all of our new board games some time this week and I guess we'll start them back to school next week.

Insomnia.
I have a weird form of insomnia. It seems that my sleep was interrupted last night because there were juggling teenagers in my bedroom, whispering and laughing. I have no idea why. I just grumbled at them and resumed sleeping. I'm kind of tired today.

Lights Under Louisville, Louisville Mega Cavern
We had to wait for a long time, but it was pretty cool. We went underground into this old limestone mine that is now a storage facility to see Lights Under Louisville. I think it was worth the wait, but I don't know that I'd want to do it again. Maybe.
